You Are A New Creation*

We as a church believe that when we turn our lives over to Christ, we become a new creation and in a very real sense, the old “self” has passed away. But the qualifier to this, that each of us knows well, is that our old ways, habits, and personality faults linger on, sometimes in powerful ways that seem counter to our belief that we are now “new.” What does it really mean to be new in Christ? If I am new in Christ, why don’t I feel or act new? What can I do about the baggage that seems to keep me from being a new person? This message examines key Scriptures dealing with the fact that sanctification is ongoing, not instantaneous.
