Critics have tried to explain Jesus’ death as simply a temporary coma or a passing out due to heat or blood loss. But the reality of His death is explained fully in the scriptures, and is the basis for our beliefs. If Jesus didn’t really die, then His claims of power over death are meaningless. Interestingly, we are told that we are to “die to self” as we follow Christ. The model of “death”, is really a source of life.
