Acts 2:1-21
The book of Acts is the most miracle-filled, spine-tingling book of the Bible. People learning foreign languages instantly, magicians becoming Christ-followers, jail breaks, shipwrecks, and some crazy dreams. But apart from the sheer excitement of the book, Acts records the establishment of the church, and the beginning of the name “Christian” to describe this new faith.
This kick-off message takes a look at the event of Pentecost, in which God sends a dramatic pouring of His Holy Spirit onto the people of God. Is that something we should desire today? Does God still work like He did in Acts? If not, why not? If so, how?
