Advice on Building Character
Proverbs 4:23
The sage advice in Proverbs was intended for helping with daily life, which is the setting for character development. Our character, i.e., those distinctive qualities built into an individual’s life which determine behavior, is shaped every day as we live out our lives at home, in the work place, and within society. Character is built over a life-time and is therefore assisted by awareness, effort, and commitment. Character transcends race, education, position, age, gender, personality. We all have character. It’s just a matter of whether it is “good” or “bad.” This message addresses Proverb’s sage advice on building solid character.
