Love Offering 2022
Love Offering / Where Did Your Giving Go Last Year
Through your generosity, a total of $2.2M was raised for the 2022-2023 Love Offering. We would love to share with you how your gift has built up the Kingdom of God and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and in action. Last year’s theme was reaching the unreached people groups who have never heard the Gospel message.
Please find a summary of the projects that you supported below:
Theme Focus: Reaching the Unreached
Reaching the unreached with the Gospel so that they too have a chance to celebrate Christmas, knowing the true reason for the season.
- Egypt: 500 Sudanese refugee families were provided with urgent relief after fleeing from their homes in Sudan to safety in Egypt.
- Various: Writings from the Chinese house churches on topics of discipleship, ecclesiology, evangelism and perseverance under persecution were translated into 10 major languages (Arabic, Dari, Farsi etc.)
- Philippines: A re-launch of a well-known evangelism course that has equipped over 50,000 believers in the past. The revised version is focused on reaching unreached people groups in the Philippines.
- India: Supported savings groups made up of 11,371 members in underserved communities in India that eventually will grow into house churches.
- Philippines: Over 800 students, including 500 Muslims, served through schools, tutorial centres, and classrooms on wheels–all to create relationships in hard-to-reach communities.
- Middle East: Reaching women and youth through sports.
- Turkey: Supported Turkish broadcasting Christian programs on satellite TV, reaching a million viewers across the region, including closed-off countries.
- Indonesia: 400 Muslim Background Believers who live in persecuted areas were able to attend a retreat where they can receive teaching and have fellowship openly with other believers.
- Bangladesh: Empowered the local church to care for the ultra-poor tea farmers in the mountain areas of Bangladesh.
- Eastern Europe/Western Asia: Missionaries serving unreached people groups were trained and mentored by an experienced full-time missionary couple.
Core Focus: Building up the Church
Doing what only the church can do in building up the global Church.
- Hong Kong: Provided two tailor-made wheelchair replacements for severely disabled individuals.
- Taiwan: Special one-off gift for a missionary family emergency
- Bosnia & Herzegovina: One-off set-up support for missionary’s first assignment
Core Focus: Remembering the Poor
The poor are at the forefront of God’s concerns, and it remains our core focus as well.
- Hope of the City, Hong Kong: Transforming the lives of the underprivileged in Hong Kong through essential community-based projects
Thank you for being a blessing to so many in Hong Kong and around the world. Your gift was instrumental in sharing the love of Jesus Christ to others and directly contributed to the great commission of the Church to make disciples of all nations.
