Philippines
But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth. — 1 John 3:17–18
The Philippines is a newly industrialised nation with a large population and economic growth potential. While the country is predominantly Christian, the southern Philippines has a large Muslim population that is seeking to establish an independent Islamic state. The Philippines also contends with systemic corruption and natural disasters that worsens the living conditions of the poor. At Island ECC, we are working with long-term partners and sending mission trips that work to alleviate the poverty situation in this transitioning economy.
Long-Term Partnership
We support 1 family in the Philippines; they help manage the operations of a large non-government organization that serves the ultra poor.
