Spiritual Formation - Wednesday, September 14th, 21st & 28th; 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm (Teacher: Pastor Rick Bates and Kevin Kusunoki)
Intimately relating to God is important, and it takes intentionality to form and maintain a vital relationship with God. The 60-page Island ECC booklet, Your Spiritual Life, is the primary resource for this class, which has an overall purpose expressed well by Paul “Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness” 1 Timothy 4:7. Participants in this class will be personally assisted to establish habits which encourage God’s grace to flow more fully in their lives. Biblical foundations and practical help are given on 32 specific topics, including Bible study, personal devotions, Sabbath rest, worship, and stewardship.

Bible Intro - Wednesday, October 5th, 12nd & 19th; 7:30pm - 9:30pm (Teacher: Martin Radford)
The Bible is believed to be the living word of God and essential for our guidance. More than just one book, the Bible is really a library of ‘books’ which were written in a language and culture very different to our own making it, at times, difficult to read or understand. This introduction to the Bible will help you get an overview of the Bible’s themes; navigate your way through the Old and New Testaments; introduce some helpful background information and provide useful tips on how to get the most from bible study.

The Life of Jesus - Wednesday, November 2nd, 9th & 16th; 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm (Teacher: Pastor Tim Latour)
“Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 11:1. In this course, we are going to look into the life of Jesus and how, as His disciples, following His example is our best course of action. We will explore His life and ministry, using the Old and New Testaments to explore details of His birth, His ministry, His gruesome death, and His miraculous resurrection. Jesus changed the world; hence the class will conclude with His commission to follow Him as we continue to tell the world about our Lord and Savior.

Theology Start-up - Wednesday, November 30th, December 7th & 14th; 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm (Teacher: Pastor Eric Farmer)
This course is designed to help you explore and think deeper about some of the foundational beliefs of the Christian faith. Whether you just picked up the Bible for the first time or you are wanting to better understand the roots of the faith you articulate, this class is for you. We’ll explore topics such as the character of God, creation & the fall, sin & salvation, as well as Jesus and the Holy Spirit. All material will be presented lecture style with time given for engaging in discussion and reflection.
