17/01/2027 - 17/01/2027

Hope of the City has once again been selected as an official charity partner for the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2027. We received overwhelming interest this year and all charity runner quotas have now been filled. But if you have successfully entered the race through the public ballot, we would still love to have you join us as a Hope Runner!
By signing up as a Hope Runner, you are building bridges to bring tangible support to underprivileged families and individuals. The larger our Hope Runner community grows, the stronger our support network and team spirit become.
We will organise community runs, host training sessions by a professional coach, and provide a runners' kit for all runners who would want to represent Hope of the City! The race will take place on Sunday, 17 January 2027.
Why sign up as a Hope Runner?
Our vision is to promote holistic youth wellness—encompassing physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being—while bringing our community together around a shared goal.
We are mobilising a team of Hope Runners (including our 40 charity runner spots and public ballot participants) to raise funds for Hope of the City. More than just a fundraiser, this initiative is a vital opportunity to walk alongside the youth in Sham Shui Po. By setting goals and training together, we aim to empower these young people while building Character, Commitment, and Community.
Building Character: Running demands persistence, physical strength, grit, and resilience—teaching us not to give up when challenges arise, but to hold fast to hope.
Building Commitment: Training for a 10km, half-marathon, or full marathon requires dedicated weekly practice, showing youth how to invest time and energy into what truly matters.
Building Community: Running can be tough on your own. By running together, we create a supportive network that encourages one another, pushes through obstacles, and reflects the inclusive, resilient spirit of the marathon. Together, we go further.
Ultimately, we want to cultivate a community that is rooted in faith and anchored in hope.
Not running, but want to support?
You can sponsor a youth runner! Your support will directly enable youth from Sham Shui Po and under-resourced communities to participate, supporting both their physical and mental wellness.
We can’t wait to start off 2027 by running this meaningful race alongside you all!
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith."— Hebrews 12:1–2
