Questioning the Christian Faith

Being a Christian is no blind or irrational leap. Based on the book, Searching Issues, written by Nicky Gumbel, this is a 4-week opportunity to explore the issues that are often perceived as objections and challenges to the Christian faith. Through engagement with these searching issues, we seek to gain a fresh perspective on the great and mysterious God whom Christians worship. We hope that participants will not only gain a deeper intellectual understanding of the issues, but also develop a closer heart relationship with God.

Searching Issues is authored by Nicky Gumbel, who is recognized as the pioneer of the Alpha Course that provides an introduction to the Christian faith. To date, over 30 million people have gone through the Alpha course in 169 countries. Supplemented with the facilitator’s materials, this study will include issues such as:

  • Is Christianity arrogant and exclusive?
  • Is there a conflict between science and Christianity?
  • Is faith irrational?
  • Has the Bible changed over the centuries?
  • Why does God allow suffering?

Optional:
This book, Searching Issues, written by Nicky Gumbel (click here), is optional and may be used as a supplementary source for further reading.
