Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do people say that I am?” to which they gave a brief range of typically human answers. He then asked them directly: “Who do YOU say that I am?”. Peter blurts out, “You are the Messiah”. He is correct, but he doesn’t know why and promptly misunderstands Jesus’ mission, something that still happens today when people treat “Christ” as a name!
“Who do you say that I am?” is a question Jesus asks all of us, and we MUST answer him.
This course is an exploration into the names given to, or used by, Jesus: Son of Man, Son of God, Messiah, Lord, Lamb of God. Through looking closely at these names, we have a wonderful opportunity to understand how Jesus was so widely misunderstood and, how he challenged his contemporaries, and challenges us, to examine who He really is.
Who it's for: Everyone who wants to deepen their knowledge of the Gospel and how Jesus’ mission is revealed through his names.
