Stages of Life Series: Menopause – A Sacred Transition

There has been a lot of noise in the last few years about the transition into menopause, and rightly so. Many changes on multiple levels are occurring that can dramatically affect the person going through it and the people around them.

Some questions we will address:

  • What changes will happen?
  • How do we prepare for and manage the many years of perimenopause?
  • Apart from bookending fertility, what else does menopause mean?
  • What practical solutions are available in Hong Kong?
  • Why and how do they work?
  • I am too young, already well past it, or a man—why does it affect me?

We will also be challenging misconceptions and dispelling myths about menopause and hormone replacement therapy.

Who it's for: If you are female or know a female, this talk is for you. All ages and genders are welcome.

Speaker’s bio:

Dr. Rebecca Lau has been a part of the ECC family even before she moved to Hong Kong from New Zealand. She is grateful to have been part of the Island ECC family for over 20 years. Having worked in NZ and HK in the public and then private sector, she still loves to listen to patients and be a part of their healing journey. She sees patients as a family doctor “from the cradle to the grave” and has taken on a fair amount of menopause work. She is glad to share the importance of what she has learned with her church family and their friends.
