“Did God invent work? Does God call me to work? How can I witness God when I am struggling to barely survive at my workplace?” If you are looking to learn about faith and work from a biblical lens and on a theological basis and to connect with other Christians from your industry or other industries, join WORK+ and explore more.

Format:
(1) Lecture on marketplace theology and practical topics on faith and work; and
(2) Interactive discussions in industry-based breakout groups.

Programme outline:

Session 1) Entering into work: Is work a blessing or a curse? What is the theology of “work”?
Session 2) Wrestling with work: How to identify and handle the sins, idols and struggles at work?
Session 3) Good neighbours at work: How to manage your relationships and even dramas at work?
Session 4) Missionary at work: How to be counter-cultural and missional at your workplace?

To cultivate the best learning and fellowship experience, all participants are expected to attend all 4 sessions in-person.

Speakers: Kwen Ip, Kevin Kusunoki, Anthony Lo, Norbert Woo

Kwen is the Director of Women’s Ministry at Island ECC. She spent half of her working life in the corporate world of international telecoms, Executive Coaching and Organisational Development. The other half was in ministry as Managing Director of Advancement (ELIC HK) and now at Island ECC. Kwen is passionate about awakening, raising and mobilising (ARMing) God’s people for kingdom living and the workplace is one of the places she has set her sights on.

Kevin is the Pastor of Care Groups and Young Adults of Island ECC. He received his Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Marketing at American University in Washington DC. Upon graduation, he served for three years at Chi Alpha Campus Ministries where he served as a coordinator of international student ministry, before attending Dallas Theological Seminary for a masters degree (Th.M., 2019).

Anthony is the chairman of Lawyers Christian Fellowship (LCF) and a fellow of Hong Kong Institute of Marketplace Transformation (HKIMT). Anthony has been passionate about serving God and expanding His Kingdom in the marketplace. He furthered developed his interest and knowledge on marketplace theology in the fellows programme of HKIMT since 2021. Anthony is now an in-house legal counsel at an investment bank by profession.

Norbert is a consultant and certified executive coach, shaped as a business and finance professional with 25+ years of leadership experience business advisory and management in entrepreneurial environments and NGOs. At Adaptive Leaders, Norbert and his team provide strategic guidance, executive & team coaching, and leadership and organizational development programs to help leaders and their teams to grow in awareness and effectiveness, accelerate healthy and positive change, towards achieving their biggest goals.
