Anyone seeking deeper biblical understanding of Genesis Chapters 1 - 11.
Description:
With the possible exception of the Book of Revelation, no chapters of the Bible cause Christian more problems than Genesis Chapters 1 – 11. With accounts of creation, human origins, human failings, floods and genealogical records, these chapters contain details that contrast vigorously with our 21st century world views, with the result that many Christians retreat into a range of ill-informed and unhelpful responses. During this 6-week course we will examine the way in which the biblical themes of Creation, Fall, Sin, Flood, Genealogies and Babel grew based upon thorough study of the texts, the environment in which they were written. This will provide a sound platform in which the text can be understood and applied with integrity to our faith and modern thinking There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion since these chapters are often seen as so contentious and in doing so, we will hopefully create a safe passage through which we can navigate without losing Biblical truths, modern science and our minds! And it will be enormous fun!
