Everyone who wants to dig deeper into the hindering grief that is often neglected or hidden but is present and do something about it.
Description:
Grief is a natural response to loss and is felt most intensely after the death of a loved one. However, there are other losses that grieve us that either be unnoticed by others or unspoken by us. These are losses we experience but feel we can’t talk about because they are too challenging to discuss, or seem insignificant relative to other issues. This could range anything from a miscarriage, the loss of a job, moving to a new home, the loss of a pet, or even the loss of a dream. But all loss is personal to us and it is important to process the grief we feel in order to move forward in our lives.
This seminar will discuss the “unspoken grief” that so many of us live with, but never talk about. Presenters will share from their personal experiences and provide information on how the grief process works.
Speakers:
Rick Bates has served as executive pastor at Island ECC for 9 years and has his doctorate in Pastoral Counselling. He and his wife, Jane, have three adult children. Tim LaTour has ministered at Island ECC for over 10 years in varying capacities, and presently oversees our Family Ministry. He and his wife, Cindy, who is a professional Christian counsellor, are parenting three active children.
