It Is Greater Than the Money!

Posted by Gary Morris on

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ Acts 20:35

This Easter season when we, followers of Jesus Christ, celebrate the greatest gift we have or will ever receive, God’s only begotten Son, it is appropriate to think about giving.

Often when we think about giving and this verse is quoted, it is not unusual to think that it refers to money, assets, or possessions. But reread the words that precede Jesus’ quote and you may come to a different conclusion. In fact, by reading all of chapter 20 which chronicles Paul’s travels, you will see Paul is ‘testifying to the gospel of God’s grace’ to both Jews and Greeks.

So during this joyous season that reminds us of Jesus’ resurrection, value what is greater than money by:

  • Thanking God for your life and the opportunity of giving your testimony to those who seek His grace.
  • Asking God to help you give your time, talents, and, certainly, the treasures you steward for Him to expand His Kingdom in Hong Kong.
