Vision Sunday

Nehemiah 1:3-6:16
For those who love strategic planning and are in positions of leadership, Nehemiah should be a steady read for you. It is chock full of not only historical detail, but very practical insight about how to get the job done well, and with the appropriate balance of diligent work and deep-felt dependence. As we enter our 11th year as a church, and are now on the backside of having planted a new church, we come before God with open hands and hearts and ask, “What now?” Today, as we celebrate Vision Sunday, we are in many ways affirming that a lot of our current programmes and plans are right in line with who and what God has called us to be. There are no major paradigm shifts or sweeping overhauls. But staying the course doesn’t mean that we do the same things in the same ways. The key to a fresh vision is more about a fresh heart than a new programme. So God is ultimately calling us to renew our hearts before Him and approach His Word and His commands to reach our city with a renewed passion. “Unless the Lord builds the house, we labour in vain”. Thanks for building with us, as we trust God for a transformed city though our own transformed lives.
