Jesus' message is not one of simply a better life, but a new one. He doesn't just offer improvements in our circumstances but a totally new way of understanding life. But our tendency is to try to mesh our old ways and new ways together. What we find is that a combination leaves us with a diluted faith and a confused life. Clarity only comes with the newness that Jesus offers.
