Africa

Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Rise and go towards the south to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is a desert place. And he rose and went. And there was an Ethiopian, a eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure. — Acts 8:26–27

Christian tradition holds that the first missionary to Africa was Mark, the gospel writer, in 60 AD. Christian missions to Africa since then have been storied with many successes and setbacks. None can argue, however, that Christianity has been a powerful agent of change in the continent as missions brought education, literacy and hope for the disadvantaged. At Island ECC, we work with long-term partners and send short-term missions to various countries in the continent annually to positively impact communities and share the good news of Christ.

Long-Term Partnership
