Bible Intro - Wednesday Feb 10th & 24th; 7:30pm - 9:30pm (Teacher: Martin Radford)
The Bible, especially the Old Testament, is simply not easy to read!  It is really a library of ‘books’ which were written in a language and culture very different to our own, leading some to question its relevance.  Christians believe that the Bible is the Living word of God but even that does not make it any easier to read. This introduction to the Bible will help you navigate your way through and hopefully find joy in the reading.   Each session is presented by Martin in a series of short videos, with a study guide and some questions, all designed to enable you to study at your own pace. There will be a online follow up session to discuss any issues you might want to raise.

The Spiritual Life - Wednesday Mar 10th & 24th; 7:30pm - 9:30pm (Teacher: Pastor Rick Bates)
The fact is that it takes discipline to establish and maintain a vital relationship with God.  The overall theme of this class is found in 1 Timothy 4:7: Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness.  The 50-page booklet, Your Spiritual Life: Life-changing spiritual disciplines, designed especially for Island ECC, is provided. This booklet and engaging presentations online will guide the way forward for establishing habits which encourage God’s grace to flow more fully into your life. Scriptural foundations and practical help are given on topics such as Bible study, personal devotions, disciplined prayer, Sabbath rest, worship, and stewardship.  There will be opportunity for Q&A after each online session.

The Life of Jesus - Wednesday Apr 7th & 21st; 7:30pm - 9:30pm (Teacher: Pastor Tim Latour)
"Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.” The Apostle Paul wrote those words in his first letter to the Corinthians - and this is something Christians have been doing for centuries. In this course, we are going to look into the Life of Jesus and how, as his disciples, following his example is our best course of action.  Jesus changed the world. We will explore His amazing life and ministry by studying both the Old and New Testaments. We will cover everything from His birth and humble life to His gruesome death to his miraculous resurrection. Finally, the class will end on his command and commission that we are called to follow as we continue to tell the world about our Lord and Savior. There will be a time for Q&A during each online session.

Theology Start-up - Wednesday May 12th & 26th; 7:30pm - 9:30pm (Teacher: Pastor Eric Farmer)
Theology 101 is a course designed to help you explore and think deeper about some of the foundational beliefs of the Christian faith. Whether you just picked up the Bible for the first time or you are wanting to better understand the roots of the faith you articulate, this class is for you. We’ll explore topics such as the character of God, creation and the fall, sin and salvation, as well Jesus and the Holy Spirit. This class will utilize a unique hybrid approach to learning.  All material will be presented lecture style alongside live hosts that will help capture the thoughts and the questions of the online audience to further engage the topic and advance conversation and reflection.
