Who it's for:
This course is for anyone who wants deepen their faith in God who through the story of the Temple in scripture reveals his desire to meet with us and dwell with us.
When we hear the word ‘Temple’, we might well think of the Temple in Jerusalem in one form or another. Whilst there are detailed accounts of the First Temple of Solomon and even more so of the Tabernacle that preceded it, there is so much more to what ‘Temple’ means in Scripture. More than a building, it was understood as the dwelling place of God – His very presence on earth. Our God is not distant God, He wants to share His dwelling place with us, culminating in the presence of His Son our Lord Jesus and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
In this six-week course, Martin will examine the way in which the Garden in Genesis 2, the Tabernacle, the Temple of Solomon, the Person of Jesus, our life as Christians, and finally the Temple of Revelation 21 are symbols of God’s real presence and how this should impact our sense of mission.
