Who it's for:
Anyone who wants to know more about how Christianity began in its early years and seeks a deeper understanding of our Christian mission, according to the book of Acts.
The Book of Acts provides some of our only information about the beginning of Christianity following the Resurrection of Jesus. The rise of Christianity was a dynamic entrance into the life of Jerusalem and quickly expanded beyond it. This dynamic expansion is still needed in our mission in Hong Kong today.
No one expected to hear the message of salvation quite like it was preached in those first few months. No one expected a crucified (now-resurrected) Jew to be the Messiah. No one expected a group of untrained men to become the driving force of this new message; and yet, that is what happened!
Tracing the events which established Christianity firmly in the life of 1st Century Palestine and the Roman Empire, this course focuses on the first 12 chapters of Acts. Those chapters revealed the explosive experience and preaching of the early apostles, the challenge and persecution they faced, the dramatic conversion of Saul, and the call to preach the Christian message to all nations. This study has a powerful impact and naturally encourages us in our Christian life and mission today.
