Who is it for: Working young adults (aged 20s-40s)

Quota: 30 participants

Non-refundable programme Fee: HK$280 (including 2 pre-assigned books by Timothy Keller / R. Paul Stevens and/or other authors) and all other course materials)

Format:
(1) Lecture on marketplace theology and practical topics on faith and work; and
(2) Interactive discussions in industry-based breakout groups.

Programme Outline:

Session 1) Entering into work: Is work a blessing or a curse? What is the theology of “work”?
Session 2) Wrestling with work: How do you identify and handle the sins, idols and struggles at work?
Session 3) Good neighbours at work: How do you manage your relationships, and even drama, at work?
Session 4) Weekday vs. Weekend: Does “work-life balance” simply mean working hard on weekdays and playing hard on weekends?
Session 5) Missionary at work: How can you be counter-cultural and missional at your workplace?
Session 6) Leaving work: What are the considerations when you leave or switch your job? What legacy are you leaving behind?

To cultivate the best learning and fellowship experience, all participants are expected to attend all 6 sessions in-person.

About Kwen Ip

Kwen is the Director of Women’s Ministry at Island ECC. She spent half of her working life in the corporate world of international telecoms, Executive Coaching and Organisational Development. The other half was in ministry as Managing Director of Advancement (ELIC HK) and now at Island ECC. Kwen is passionate about awakening, raising and mobilising (ARMing) God’s people for kingdom living and the workplace is one of the places she has set her sights on.

About Anthony Lo

Anthony is a director of Lawyers Christian Fellowship (LCF) and a fellow of Hong Kong Institute of Marketplace Transformation (HKIMT). Anthony has been passionate about serving God and expanding His Kingdom in the marketplace. He furthered developed his interest and knowledge on marketplace theology in the fellows programme of HKIMT since 2021. Anthony is now an in-house legal counsel at an investment bank by profession.
