The Art of Marriage: Getting to the Heart of God's Design

8/04/2018 11:30 am - 8/04/2018 1:00 pm

Every marriage is unique, expressed by the two colourful personalities of each spouse and textured by the circumstances at play in their lives.  Blending these to make marriage work is a divinely inspired art form, that is challenging to master but definitely worth the effort.  This class uses a small group structure with 20 minutes videos, a cool guidebook, and safe discussions to help any marriage at any juncture find more fulfillment.

The material used for this small-group is from FamilyLife, who has been helping couples discover God’s plan for relationships for more than three decades.  It combines expert teaching, engaging stories, interviews, and humorous vignettes and more to portray the hope and beauty of God’s design for marriage.  Rick and Jane Bates, who have been married for over four decades, will also share their insights and some practical helps.

The sessions each week are:

April 8 – Love Happens: God’s Purpose and Plan

April 15 -  Love Fades: Overcoming Isolation

April 22  Love Dances: Fulfilling Our Responsibilities

April 29 – Love Interrupted: Communication and Conflict

May 6 - Love Sizzles: Experiencing Real Intimacy

Who is this for? For married couples.

Format: Watch a 20 minute video; use a small-group discussion booklet; sharing and discussions; supplemental material provided by facilitator.

Instructors: Rick and Jane Bates and co-facilitators.
