The Book of Acts

26/11/2017 11:30 am - 26/11/2017 1:00 pm

The book of Acts begins with the followers of Jesus staring into the sky as their great leader departs. The resurrected one who claimed to be inaugurating God’s kingdom on earth, is gone. And yet, in a book where persecution and power are often yoked together, this book captures the expansion of the early church throughout the Roman empire.

This class will look at how the kingdom of God showed itself on earth through Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the church. We will explore how the early church often had to navigate a clash of cultures as it expanded from a Messianic Jewish gathering in Jerusalem into an international, multi-ethnic movement across the Roman empire.

Whether you are newer to reading the Bible and looking to understand what Acts is all about, or someone who has read Acts many times and are looking to uncover deeper insights into the book of Acts, this class will be presented in a way that helps you grow in your faith.
