Yunnan

What we are doing
Yunnan is a province located in southwest China. (Learn more about Yunnan here.)
This July, Island ECC is sending a team of volunteers to strengthen existing youth ministries as well as to kick-start outreach to youth in an area where no such work exists. One of the pastors we will be working with has a heart to see his youth ministry of 30 persons expand to 80. Another has just started pioneering a youth work in a place where there was previously none.
Who we are looking for
You don’t have to be a super Christian or have any particular qualifications, only a willing heart and available hands.
Experience with youth and Putonghua-speaking abilities are useful but not essential pre-requisites. Our experience has been that we prepare to the best we know how to, show up and God uses our 5 loaves and 2 fish to bless the locals and also teach us new things beyond our expectations.
It would be ideal if some on the team are:
a. able to do filming and photography (it would be great to capture key snapshots and be able to do a video to summarize our programme for future trippers!)
b. able to administer the simplified MBTI test
c. prayer-minded individuals
This is our prayer for Yunnan
1. A generation of children and youth who know and love our Father - may they also be a Spirit-inspired force proclaiming the gospel into distant cities and villages likely beyond the reach of us city dwellers.
2. Many, many lives transformed by the saving grace of Jesus
3. God bringing suitable people to serve His mission in Yunnan
