Bac Ha is a poor rural area in the mountainous northern province of Lao Cai, Vietnam. Most people living in this area belong to the H’Mong and Red Dao (Mien) minority group. Education is a part of the government’s plan for social and community development, but most children in the mountainous areas do not have easy access schools because of poor public infrastructure. Low standards of school infrastructure are also hindrances to education. Our team will be helping the Thai Giang Pho commune middle school to pave the schoolyard. This will help address the quality of educational services and also provide parents with more peace of mind in sending their children to school.
