Baby Dedication

"On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived. When the time came for the purification rites required by the Law of Moses, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord" - Luke 2:21-22
Baby Dedication is a ceremony in which Christian, believing parents, and sometimes the immediate and extended family, make a commitment before the Lord to submit their child to God's will and to raise that child according to God's Word and God's ways. The congregation is also charged with supporting the child and his or her family as the child grows.
Note: This practice differs from infant baptism. Island ECC practices believer's baptism where the child should be at an age of accountability to be able to make the decision to be baptized and complete the baptism classes. For more information on baptism, please click here.
We schedule baby dedications every second Sunday in the month. These would normally take place during the service that the parents attend. Please make sure you and your family comes on time as the dedications often take place at the beginning of our service.
To book a baby dedication please email Gina Charsley () in advance to find out availability and more details.
