Albert was born in a farming village in China. He grew up in HK and received an electronic engineering degree from the University of Hong Kong. While studying in HKU, God intervened into his life by leading him to a student ministry. He joined an overseas mission trip for 5 weeks through which God opened his eyes to the need of the worldwide mission field. Later, God called Albert into full time ministry and he served with Campus Crusade for 16 years. His ministry experiences include pioneering a student ministry in HKUST, directing a new staff training center, overseeing the administration and finance, and lastly as the interim director for the HK ministry.
Albert is married to Elisa, and they have two little boys, Micah and Justin. The family started worshiping in Island ECC in 2002 after relocating from Scotland. They joined a care group and Albert started serving by teaching baptism classes. Albert joined Island ECC as pastor in July 2008.
Albert received a Master of Theology (M.Th) degree from The University of Aberdeen in Scotland and a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min) degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in USA. His interest is to look into how God develops spiritual leaders and how to avoid leadership failure. His next research project is to re-read the whole Kung Fu epic library by Louis Cha. In his spare time Albert enjoys reading, coffee, and durian, though not necessarily all at the same time.
